Christmas Through the Ages- Guided House Tour

Step back in time and get into the festive spirit as you take an atmospheric guided tour around the seasonally decorated house. 

Listen to tales from Christmas in different ages. hear about many of our Christmas traditions and life at this festive time in years gone by.

The tour will last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.  It is aimed at adults but should be suitable for interested children aged 10 and above.

Useful information:

  • Please dress warmly and be aware that due to the age of the house, there are a number of different and sometimes uneven floor surfaces.
  • The tour will include stairs as some rooms are upstairs. For further details about access, please see the Facilities & Access page on our website.
  • The tour includes a limited number of rooms and not all the rooms on a standard house tour.
  • Our Tearoom will be open 11am -3pm 
  • Festive Afternoon Teas available to pre-book.
  • The Gardens will be closed in December.

Please note: On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December we will also be holding our Christmas Gift Market so there will be a £2 per car / pedestrian group of 6 site admission fee payable (cash only) on the gate in addition to the cost of your ticket.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
