Weavers by Candlelight
We are delighted to welcome the Houghton Weavers for an evening performance by Candlelight in the fabulous Banqueting Hall on Thursday the 24th of September.
Starting at 7pm until 9:30pm (Doors open 30 minutes before performance starts). The bar will be open from 5:30pm for drinks and snacks before the performance and during the interval.
THE HOUGHTON WEAVERS promise plenty of laughter with their infectious humour and funny stories galore. You’ll hear the old Weavers favourites such as Blackpool Belle, Sit Thi Deawn, Matchstalk Men and Dirty Old Town, together with new pieces, original songs and poems. From raucous energetic folk songs and sing-a-long classics to beautiful poignant ballads, and audience requests thrown in, each and every show with The Houghton Weavers is a little different!
MORE ABOUT THE HOUGHTON WEAVERS, The Northwest’s Premiere Comedy / Folk Group, have been entertaining folk for over 50 years! with their unique blend of popular folk music, humour and audience participation. With countless Television and Radio appearances under their belt, they continue to tour across a wide selection of theatres and venues.
Having recently performed as a headline Act at The Great British Folk Festival, their single “Wild Mountain Thyme” appeared in the Heritage Charts Top 40 and is due to appear in an upcoming film, ‘Between Weathers’. The band has recorded over 30 albums at iconic studios including Abbey Road and Frog Studios, 23 of which were arranged and produced by Steve Millington.
Jim Berry and Steve Millington, featuring Simon Brady on mandolin, is an exciting combination on stage which will certainly have you singing along to this feel-good show!

Access
The Banqueting Hall is accessed either via two flights of stone steps without a handrail or, alternatively, a single flight of narrower stones steps with a handrail. There are then steps within the building. If you have access requirements, we may be able to make alternative arrangements so please contact us to discuss these before purchasing your tickets. All visits help the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust (Registered Charity: 508357) to maintain, preserve, restore and maintain this beautiful building and grounds in which it stands and to continue to share its fascinating history with generations to come. Thank you for your support.

All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable, please check the details carefully and ensure that you can commit to the date and time before you complete your booking as regrettably, we are unable to accommodate any changes once your booking is finalised.
If we have to cancel your booking for any reason, you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your ticket to an alternative session (subject to availability).
