Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea at the majestic 16th century Hoghton Tower.

Our friendly team will serve a delicious selection of sweet and savoury delights including savouries and sandwiches, a fresh scone served with clotted cream and jam and other sweet treats.  All this paired with freshly brewed tea or coffee or for an extra special treat, why not upgrade to a glass of prosecco or bottle of beer.

All afternoon teas booked for Saturday 23rd November - Sunday 22nd December will have a festive twist.

We are happy to cater for dietary requirements proving that they are included at the time of booking. However, please be aware that, our kitchen does handle products containing allergens and that, although we take care during food preparation, we cannot guarantee that there will be no cross contamination.

To ensure that we can give you the best experience possible, all afternoon teas must be pre-booked.

Gardens

You are welcome to enjoy the beautiful gardens either before or after your afternoon tea (subject to garden opening times). 

October 2024 - Gardens open 11am - 3pm (last entry 2:30pm)

November 2024 - March 2025 - Gardens closed. 

Special Events

Please note that on the 3rd Sunday of every month we hold our popular Farmers' Market. On these days a site admission fee of £2 per car / pedestrian group (up to 6 people) will be payable on entry for all visitors (cash only). All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable, please check the details carefully and ensure that you can commit to the date and time before you complete your booking as regrettably, we are unable to accommodate any changes once your booking is finalised.

If we have to cancel your booking for any reason, you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your ticket to an alternative session (subject to availability).

If you or any of your party have any special dietary requirements (including vegetarian / vegan) please make a note of these during the checkout process. If you have a gluten free, dairy free or other specific requirement, please be aware that although we take the utmost care preparing your food, we are unable to guarantee that it will be free from any allergen as these are present within our kitchen environment.

Please be aware that your table will be available for you to enjoy your afternoon tea for 90 minutes, at which point we will respectfully require the table back.

House & Gardens – Our special Autumn / Winter Guided House tours are available to book separately.

Accessibility – The Billiard Room is located in the main house and accessed from the Inner Courtyard. This is accessed either by two flights of stone steps without handrails or one steeper flight of stone steps with a handrail. Once inside the building some steps between rooms.
